Daily Journal Photo Essay Contest
In August 2004, the prevention task force decided to turn to local public schools for creative ideas for our name and logo. We teamed up with the Daily Journal and held a drawing contest. We asked area youth to draw pictures and write essays about memorable family experiences. The participation was remarkable and the picture gallery below is a sample of the entries.
Jessica Gibson, then a 6th grade student at West County Elementary School, submitted the
winning drawing.
Her drawing, became the inspiration for both our name and our logo.
Thanks Jessica!
